Silvia had to work in the morning so it made sense to go for a walk to start the day. I grabbed a paper map on the way out of Salty Towers to save digging out our phones. Coffee was not hard to find as there is an excellent Coffee and treats at the Honeybeans Coffee, Tea & Treats https://goo.gl/maps/Cm785THFBWwZud1U8 open at 7:30 AM. We followed River Road towards the St. Andrews Blockhouse National Historic Site https://goo.gl/maps/9W7W3PVfjVQpP49dA. We continued towards the Algonquin Golf Course and returned home walking along the back roads of St. Andrews. It was quite surprising how easily we walked almost 7 KM’s. There was a huge amount of rain forecast for the day but only sprinkles happened up to then Silvia worked upstairs for a few hours while I did some photo backups and got prepared to do some more serious blogging. We decided last minute to visit Ministers Island and I insisted we tried by bike. Unfortunately we did not really plan properly for the route there nor when the tide allows visitors to cross. The proper way to ride to the mainland side is to take the Van Horne Trail. I did not know that and when we got a bit mixed up, Google recommended the roads which were steep and hard on Silvia. We did eventually enjoy a long downhill towards the crossing. We parked and locked our bike not knowing the proper process. We did not read close enough the details of when we could get onto the island and stay for the 5-6 hour low tide duration. Fortunately a helpful ticket person at the other end informed us we could not stay. The tide was actually coming in and within hours it would be covered by 1 meter of water. We filmed the tide coming in which was really cool. It started to rain kinda hard so I put protected my phone and donned my rain gear and umbrella. Silvia got a little wet unfortunately. Walking the bike back up to the hill revealed the proper entrance of the Van Horne trail. Getting back was relatively easy from there. Back home left much time to blog while drying out. We explored town for dinner and this time enjoyed ourselves at the backyard outside patio of the Harbour Front Restaurant https://harbourfrontrestaurant.ca/ We watched the clouds roll in and present a pretty decent amount of rain while we ate. It was so cool. The rain stopped in time for a quick walk home to be able to finally meet and pet Moustache the cat. Awesome day
